Angelle Architects proudly promotes Dione Sonnier and Bryan Estes to the position of Senior Associate. Respected by peers and clients alike, both of these seasoned professionals continue to showcase how communication, strategic design and a strong commitment to client-centered solutions can impact communities for generations to come.
Glenn Angelle, Owner and Principal of Angelle Architects, says, “I’m proud to celebrate my long-time colleagues, Dione and Bryan, as Senior Associates of Angelle Architects in this well-deserved promotion. Their leadership within the firm and their significant contributions to the work for our clients is well proven. We have a very strong team, the strongest in our three decades — and the momentum is truly just beginning. The strides we’ve recently made due to their efforts provide excitement and hope for what the future holds for our firm, and I look forward to unveiling what’s on the horizon for Angelle Architects.”
Dione Sonnier, a native of Lafayette, obtained her Master of Architecture from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2008 and has been a Louisiana Licensed Interior Designer since 1992. Most recently, Sonnier worked alongside local agencies to reshape a disjoined block of the central business district in Breaux Bridge, establishing the new Breaux Bridge Library as a focal point for the entire community.
“Architecture creates a remarkable framework for communities, families and individuals to flourish,” Sonnier notes. “Where there is engaging collaboration between architects and end-users, the project is always greater than originally imagined. I plan to continue this inclusive design legacy of Angelle Architects while also being an ambassador for growth opportunities across our state.” Sonnier’s commitment to her community expands beyond her day job as she is a past Board Member of the Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce, a member of the local Theresians’ Group and is a proud graduate of LIA’s Leadership Lafayette program. Dione is happily married with two daughters and enjoys traveling and reconnecting with nature in the garden.
Bryan Estes, originally of Brookhaven, Mississippi, graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1991 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and has lived and practiced in Acadiana for nearly 30 years. Estes, known for his inventive approach and keen construction knowledge, leads the design studio at Angelle Architects. Some of his most notable works include the new “Designed with Nature” Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School in Lake Charles, the “Exoskeleton” Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge Headquarter Building in Grand Chenier, and a private Lodge featuring an antique lumber structure in Vermilion Parish.
Estes notes, “Architecture to me is the ability to interpret one’s thoughts into reality with drawings. Watching someone’s eyes light up with excitement is what it is all about. It truly is an honor to be a part of the team as Senior Associate and I look forward to continuing to produce client-focused, impactful architecture for our community.” Estes is a proud husband and father to two children and 7 grandchildren and enjoys playing golf, fishing and taking trips to the beach.
Angelle Architects, LLC. is celebrating 33 years of sustainable, community-based architecture in Louisiana. The team at Angelle Architects continues to design significant commercial, institutional, educational, adaptive-reuse, custom residential and neighborhood projects throughout the state.
